Appreciate Your Professionals!

This week is Administrative Professionals’ Week, and Wednesday, April 22nd, is Administrative Professionals’ Day. Over the years, Administrative Professionals Week/Day has become one of the largest workplace observances. The event is now celebrated worldwide through community events, social gatherings, and individual corporate activities recognizing support staff with gifts.

Formerly known as National Secretaries Day, formal celebration of administrative professionals began in 1952. The name was changed in 2000 in order to better represent and include the expanding responsibilities and wide-ranging job titles of administrative support staff. Administrative Professionals Day was originally created with two objectives in mind. First, it recognizes administrative staff and their skills, loyalty, and efficiency upon which businesses and government offices depend. Second, it calls attention to the importance and potential of administrative careers.
