Gaultheria procumbens, also called the eastern teaberry or the American wintergreen, is a species of Gaultheria native to northeastern North America from Newfoundland west to southeastern Manitoba, and south to Alabama. To keep Wintergreen happy indoors, give it bright light but little direct sun. It can tolerate only 1-2 hours of direct sun early or late in the day.
